As a business owner in the EV industry, I know that sourcing from China can be both a massive opportunity and a potential headache. With thousands of factories in provinces like Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong, the question isn’t "Can I find a supplier?"—it’s "How do I find a partner I can trust?"
I’ve seen many international buyers get burned by low-quality electric vehicle controllers or motors that fail after just a month of use. Today, I’m pulling back the curtain to show you what a high-quality production process looks like and how you should evaluate your next supplier.
1. Look Beyond the "Low Price" Trap
In the electric tricycle world, you get what you pay for. A "cheap" 3000W BLDC motor often uses aluminum wiring instead of pure copper, or recycled magnets that lose their strength over time.
My Advice: When comparing quotes, always ask for the weight of the motor and the grade of the copper used. A high-quality motor is almost always heavier because of its dense, high-grade copper windings.
2. Verify the "Stress Testing" Process
A professional electric tricycle parts manufacturer doesn't just assemble parts; they test them to failure. Before you sign a contract, ask the supplier about their Quality Control (QC) flow.
In our facility, we follow a strict three-step verification:
Incoming Material Inspection: Testing the MOSFETs in our electric vehicle controllers for voltage stability.
Dynamic Loading Test: Running motors on a dynamometer to simulate real-world hill climbing.
Waterproof Testing: Submerging components to ensure they meet IP65/IP67 standards.
